Join us the night before our Fall Tour, Saturday, October 28th, for an evening in Lake City, SC! We will be hosting a talk by Dr. Scott Kaufman from Francis Marion University titled, "Francis Marion: Hollywood or History."
Hollywood tends to take liberties with the past and such is the case with General Francis Marion. Using excerpts from Disney's The Swamp Fox and the blockbuster movie The Patriot, Dr. Kaufman will demonstrate that Hollywood's depiction of Francis Marion and his exploits leaves much to be desired from a historical perspective.
The lecture will be held at Blanding Street Auditorium (125 S Blanding St, Lake City, SC 29560). Following the lecture, we will be hosting a dinner at The Stables at the Inn at the Crossroads (126 N Acline St, Lake City, SC 29560).
